On Saturday the 14th of May, we welcomed Rugby’s swim team in a gala which saw a very strong performance from the Oundle Swim Team. Two school records were broken, and there were twenty four personal bests achieved. Oundle managed to come out on top in all four age categories, winning overall 273-210- a most pleasing result!
This result would not have been possible without the outstanding swimmers we are fortunate enough to have. To that end, I would like to give a special mention to the following swimmers:
It was certainly great to be back Home and emerge victorious just days after we were unable to do the same against Uppingham. The team as always were just admirable- they are so capable and driven. They represent the school extremely well.
Sadly, however, this match marks the final time we will ever swim with the Upper Sixth as they go on study leave. I would like to give special thanks to the outgoing captains, Izzy Horrocks-Taylor (L U6) and Chuan Lim (F U6). They have been the best mentors and captains I could possibly have asked for, and are so deserving of recognition and praise for all they have given to the team. There is no doubt in my mind that we the incoming captains have big shoes to fill as we head into the second half of this Term.
