Match Report :

Stamford had been one of the first games we played this season and a game which we previously lost. Therefore, we travelled to Stamford eager to finish our season on a high and to exact revenge for the loss all the way back in September. That was our mission and we succeeded. The 1st team stormed to an emphatic 4-1 victory demonstrating our improvement since the start of the season. It was an amazing way to end a largely successful campaign for the Squash club. The 2nd team did not let up their ruthless demolition of their opponents with a decisive victory. Losing only 1 game throughout the whole afternoon, this performance echoed their somewhat trade style set of performance this year. It is hard to say that the 2nd team have been troubled much. They sailed through the whole season unbeaten and in style. Strong commendations should be reserved for their performances and the manner in which they continued with humility and class. Obviously this is a perfect ending to the season for the Squash Club , ending on a high and showing many promising signs for the future. It was several players last squash match for Oundle ( William Stevenson, Philip Tomkinson and Jamie Perring). Therefore, it was poignant to finish on a victory to wish these players luck in the future squash endeavors. As a club we have beaten every school on the circuits except Stowe in a season that highlighted the dedication and natural ability of Oundle squash. This is testament to the coaching and close supervision of Mr. Raftery and Carol who have tirelessly worked with us both during the matches through feedback but also giving us technical advice during coaching . There have been both highs and lows during this season of which we have collaborated together to overcome, and I truly believe the development of all players throughout this season has been tremendous. While many of this team will drafted by other sports next term , the squash team for next term and next year have a high benchmark to follow.

Kind Regards,

Jamie Perring
