Match Report :

Our second match of the half-term brought a mixed bag of results. Unfortunately, the 1st team succumbed to a close defeat while the 2nd team continued their rampage of results. The 1st team got off to a good start with both Wright brothers performing well yet tough opponents and a poor performance from myself unfortunately cost Oundle the match. The hour-long coach ride back definitely provides an opportunity to reflect on what went wrong and to prepare for Thursday’s home match. It is unsurprising to report the 2nd team continued to do what they do best. Each match a slightly altered team embraces the courts and each match they keep coming away with impressive victories. Today there was not a single game dropped as the 2nd team purely outclassed their opponents. It is always nice for a team to come away with a victory as it gives reassurance that the long journey was worth it. Once again , it was pleasing to see support demonstrated by Oundle pupils for their teammates. All Oundle pupils stayed supporting matches of their peers with an evident will for their peers to succeed. We look forward to welcoming Rugby at home on Thursday and the 1st team look to right their errors to rediscover the momentum we had at the start of last half-term. Despite the unfortunate loss, it was an enjoying afternoon with the chance to travel to another impressive school and to show what Oundle Squash Club can do on the courts.
