Freddie Insch : Won 3-0

Oundle 2nd team defeated Rugby 2nd Team : 4 vs 1

Match Report :

Once again, Oundle continued their impressive start to the Season with another consecutive Win. Both teams came away with equal 4 vs 1 victories in an excellent afternoon for Oundle Squash. It was always going to be difficult after traveling an hour on the bus and warming up in 5 minutes, but yet again Oundle pulled through to enter the exeat unbeaten. Despite the first team already assured of a win ( as seeds 3,4 and 5 had already won their own games), the standout performance of the day was Veronica Li. In the 4th Set, Veronica was 1-2 Games down, and the score 5-10. Despite the opponent having 4 consecutive match points, Veronica fought back in a determined fashion to take the set 12-10 and win the final game to seal the match. A testimony to her own dedication and the passion of Oundle Students when representing the school. Furthermore, It was lovely to see the team congratulate each other while rehydrating, after all the matches had finished. It was another splendid afternoon for the squash club who reveled in the pressuring environment of unfamiliar squash courts and gives us excellent momentum going into our next sets of matches.
