Oundle 2nd team defeated Lincoln Minster 2nd Team : 6 vs 1

Match Report :

It was a very impressive performance from Oundle who had only beaten Lincoln Minster once before in all meetings. For a first school match in several months, and for some their first ever fixture, Oundle wasted no time in sweeping the cobwebs away. All Oundle players demonstrated extremely high levels of both sportsmanship and camaraderie throughout the afternoon. Throughout all the matches, all Oundle players not engaged in a match, were heavily supporting their friends on court. It was lovely to see our team congratulating each other after both wins and losses and the genuine support of their peers on show. Both teams won convincingly overall and there were several matches where the dedication and determination of the Oundle Students won them the game. There was also a defined discipline from the Oundle Students marking the games on court ( as a result of the marking clinic run last week by our teachers) in a just and reliable fashion that made the afternoon run smoothly. Overall , it was a sublime showing, on and off the pitch for Oundle, for an excellent start to the season.
