Match Report :
We followed up the Saturday performance with an excellent hard-fought set of results against a local opposition. Due to the Gale Mile , we were lining up with 5 members absent from our strongest 1st and 2nd V. However, this allowed us to showcase our depth and give players a chance to represent the school. Furthermore, Uppingham brought their girls 3rd Team which allowed another Oundle team to play. Due to not having enough girls in the squash program, this team included the very youngest members of the squash club. Throughout the afternoon, all of the teams showcased perseverance and quality to come away from a local rivalry with 3 team wins. In particular, it was impressive to see the 1st V and the Mixed Invitation team to only drop 5 games between them and a straight set of victories. Once again, there was clear definite marking and good showcase of sportsmanship. There was lots of smiles and encouragement from their peers when watching each other’s game to cap off an excellent second match day performance from Oundle. However , there is anticipation of much harder matches to come. A daunting but exciting prospect.
Kind Regards,
Jamie Perring
