Match Report
Oundle School Girls-U14A vs  National Schools Regional Finals
On: Saturday, 29 Jan 2022
Venue: at Home

On Saturday we the U14 A’s/+b’s came 5/10 overall in the regional finals netball tournament.

Although, we lost many players before, we brought up some of the B team and went on to play in the tournament.

Our first match was against Stamford, who we had already previously drawn with at the start of term. Even though we had drawn with them before, we did not have the highest hopes to win as we were not used to the 7 minute halves of the matches and we had lost Nwando, our team captain. We ended up losing, 20 to 4. But we did not let this dampen our mood to win.

Next, after a short break, we played Toothill. Although it was close, thankfully we won 5-4. This boosted our mood further as we knew we had a chance of doing well.

Thirdly, we played Leicester Grammar, sadly losing 10-2. Although this meant we wouldn’t go through to the nationals round we knew to keep battling on for the highest place still possible for us to get.

Penultimately, we played Allestree Woodlands, drawing 9-9. Although we hadn’t won, we took this happily because it meant we had played well enough not to lose, after being tired from working hard in the previous matches.

Lastly, in the playoffs, we played Nottingham girls high. We won this thankfully 7-5 and put a smile on our faces at the end of the day as we had done our best and done reasonably well.
