Match Report
Oundle School 1st Team - Boys vs  Stowe School
On: Tuesday, 23 Jan 2018
Venue: Away

Oundle didn’t have the best of their matches today against Stowe, but there were some great moments and Oundle can take lots of positives away from this game. The early signs of a difficult game came through straight away in the first quarter, as Stowe went on an offensive. They had majority of the possession and had lots of shots from both long and short range, so the fact Oundle were only 1:0 down by the end of the first quarter said a lot about our defence and goalkeeper. In the second quarter Oundle retained more of the ball and with great long passes into attack they managed to disturb the goalkeeper a couple of times, but unfortunately as time went on there were obvious holes formed in the middle, between defence and midfield. Stowe exploited that and scored two more goals. In the third quarter Oundle didn’t have much success, as Stowe continued to exploit the middle getting themselves three more goals. In the fourth quarter, Stowe started by scoring a quick goal, which led them to complacency as they thought that the match was over, but Oundle didn’t give up as they pounced on the sleeping defenders. Finally Georgio earned and stepped up for the penalty and, despite the keeper getting a touch on it, he put enough power to put the ball past him. At the closing stages of the game Oundle had the final word as Ben put the ball into the top corner from a free kick, making it 7:2.
