Match Report
Oundle School Girls-U13D vs  Stamford
On: Wednesday, 24 Jan 2018
Venue: Away

On Wednesday evening, the U13Ds played a netball away match against Stamford, the Oundelians taking a relatively short bus journey. Compared to our previous match the temperature was warmer at 6 degrees C however the blustery winds challenged the players efforts to stay upright and connected to terra firma.

The home team took an early lead scoring 7 goals but Mahitha and Poppy clawed back and managed to score 3 goals in the first quarter.

Despite our smaller stature, we managed to carry the ball across the court into the D quickly and evasively. The Oundle team had a dry spell in the next two quarters despite a brave effort to defend. The score at 15-3 does not truly reflect the resolute efforts of the team!

The final quarter was bravely fought, as we tried to intercept as many balls as we could. Despite our best intentions, only two further goals were scored by Oundle and the final score was 18-5 to the home team. It would be fair to say that we were disappointed with the outcome, but I am confident that the next match will see our players return with renewed energy and passion after a restful exeat!
